Uh no.
Even if they have a rez sig, chances are they won't use it in RA if they haven't been used to rezzing. So what's the point? Plus, it throws off game balance since most players can have 8 usable skills instead of 7, whereas pvp monks get no additional benefit (since they'll never rez anyways).
Seriously, just take a rez sig. It's not that hard. You don't need all 8 of your skills unless you're a farmer, pvp monk or ganker.

i don't see why people would complain about this? how many times have ya went solo or duo with a friend and "oh.. sorry you're dead and my build requires 8 slots".
a ninth slot for just a res would be nice. and just disable the slot for PvP'ers since they'll cry up and down over it. (As they're already doing it...)

Punctuation, grammar, and spelling aside....this idea murders PvP beyond its current state...

I think the 9th slot should be for a heal or hex/condition removal and the 10th slot can be for a rez. o.O
And, while we are at it, let's get chess and checker boards to have ten rows and ten columns of squares instead of the very limiting eight that we now have.

nice to know even moderators can be all sarcastic about this... and going off history of threads i'm surprised this one wasn't locked too.....
for balance though...
PvE - 9 Slots, number "9" being ONLY a res. nothing else. Maybe even just a Slot for ResSig and nothing else.. Solves the whole "I don't have room in my build for a Res" crap.
PvP - 8 Slots, like Normal... Because 1 it'll unbalance PvP, and 2. it'll cause PvP matches to last forever lol.
Main reason why this is a good idea is because since the introduction of Hard Mode i see a lot more people that simply don't bring Res skills. thus the group fails because 1 person didn't have a res and can't res anyone.

Game is designed around 8 skills.. PERIOD
I fully agree with Kuldebar here.
Next thing it's 'I don't have a res cause i need my 9 skills' after that it's 10 etc.
No further comment needed

Solo farming build won't need rez. 8 skills slot are ok the way they are, when you're in a team most build only need 7 slots that leave the last slot for res. Unless you're playing monk in pvp, in that case all 8 slots are need.

It would murder PvE as well as PvP.
Especially when you are henching the game, it would be REALLY annoyin, if the henchies decided to aggro 3-5 groups of HM monsters AGAIN. Ofcourse you get overwhelmed, but because of the all-have-ress feature, the henchies would resurrect every fallen member instantly. Kinda like Wurm-mode. The result would be a 60DP party, slowly and almost endlessly fighting a party of 20-30 HM monsters. Eventually you would win, but what would be the fun of that? Ignoring the fact of 60DP for the whole party.
And real players do not make this any better. Probably one or two are 'smart' enough to do in-battle-resurrects when it is not asked for.

Screw that idea....
Now while I believe every class should get its own re-usable res skill (rather than having to rely on the woefully inadequate Res Signet and Sunspear Rebirth Signets).... it should be just that: a skill .... Conditional maybe.... NOT something occupying its own 9th slot.

not a bad idea. Well not completely bad. I see where you are coming from. But the whole point of guildwars not having 20 or so slots like WoW is that you have to think more about your build. As a sin I seldom take rez in PvE. If i am the last one standing things have gone very bad. In PvP I personally dont think everyone needs rez. the warriors sins and derx. are on the front lines fighting trying to keep the mobs away from the others. Now the squishier members should bring rez. Nice idea but sorry i disagree.

Totally agree with the Heroes and their rezzing AI nature wouldnt be good ...but that wasnt the point and most that have flamed the entire idea and have missed the point ...NOT a ninth skill slot for the last time ..[just a rez thats not used in a skill bar slot used the same way our rezs are now] but most think the idea sucks so i guess it doesnt matter since it will never happen.. i love the reactions to the posts though
and to the go play Wow or Noob calling ppl [over 1.5 yrs of experience to this game btw]...thanx for not havin anything better to post ...

Hahhahaha! Is this a joke thread?
I have another suggestion!! Why not just drop the idea of skill bars altogether! Everyone can use whatever skill their character has for their profession anytime they want!

There is already a res skill slot... it's the one you choose from 1 to 8.
And you know what? Is so grat that slot, that you can put anything elese, not only resurrection skills.
I'd rather add an option to shrines in PvE, so you /pray on them, and you bring back allies, by paying some 'price' in exchange (gold, morale penalty, etc...), as long as there are no enemies around.
PvP does not need any more resurrection systems or easiness.

I am thinking more along the lines of a 9th slot, but permenantly fixed as res-sig, and res-sig only. (If you want rebirth, reschant or whatever then bring your own)
And at the same time, drop the res shrines in pvp.

Many Primary Profession Attributes have also been changed... Fast Casting, Soul Reaping, Divine Favor... For better and for worst.
My point is: the community adapts. ANet could nerf of buff something one day and the members of GW will adapt to it. That's how games evolve. That's what makes a good game.

The only of those changes that has actually changed game balance is the primary att one. Your point is not made!

wall o'text...
and /unsigned. Adding something outside of the core 8 skill system would not only add balance issues (imagine pve enemies with hard rez like that, even just one use!) it would destroy the fundamental base of the game, the strategy involved in working a rez into the rest of your skills.
